Registered Nurse, YouTuber, Mom, and Blogger

Hey Danielle here,

I never thought I’d be stringing those four descriptors together in an “about me” section but here we are so let’s jump in starting with a bit of background.

I am someone who had avoided all social media as a rule.

Then in January of 2022, I found myself inspired by the numerous patients I spoke with daily who said that they were hungry for clear information on their illness, but what they found on YouTube was either:

Geared towards health care professionals and way too clinical.

Or

Outdated, untrustworthy, and flat out boring.

This is where Lucid Med was born. Starting a YouTube channel while working full time as a registered nurse in the middle of a pandemic sounded challenging (insane). But I had 3 college aged kids who had flown the coup and I had plenty of time to dedicate to learning how to do this.

OK, I know what you’re thinking…

Where does the blog come in?

Let me explain. After many months of climbing a learning curve so steep I never thought I’d see a normal sleep cycle again something happened….Lucid Med gained some traction and it was a natural segue to start a blog in order to reach more people with my brand of clarity in a world of chronic disease chaos.

So here we’ll talk about the up’s and down’s of living with a chronic illness and the best evidence based practices to manage them.

I’m really happy you’re along for the ride!

A Few Fun Facts

1: My nursing career has spanned 3 decades and has focused on areas including:

critical care

infusion

homecare

pharma

education

neurology

research

2: I have 3 kids and 1 dog who believes she’s human. Two of them go to the same college for physician’s assistant, and one is working in management for one of the world’s largest hygienics companies. The dog…well she’s running the joint.

3: I’ve never driven anything but a manual transmission and feel it’s a tragedy that car manufacturers are completely doing away with producing them

Say hello…
